This position is based at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel & Conference Center in Norwood, MA. The property is owned by Hobbs Brook Real Estate LLC, the real estate division of FM, offering a dynamic hospitality environment with strong organizational support.
The Four Points by Sheraton Norwood Hotel & Conference Center features 230 modern, smoke-free guestrooms, including allergy-friendly options, along with complimentary Wi-Fi, parking, and access to the fitness center and indoor pool. With 28 meeting rooms and 40,000 square feet of event space, the hotel is well-suited for meetings and conferences of all sizes, and the Tiffany Ballroom to cater social events. The Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of guests using the hotel's pool, spa, fitness, and atrium areas. This role serves as the first line of protection for guests through active surveillance, safety enforcement, emergency response, and exceptional guest service.
These duties include:
Monitor the pool, spa, fitness, and surrounding areas to ensure a safe environment for all guests.
Identify and address safety hazards, unsafe behavior, and facility concerns.
Respond quickly and appropriately to aquatic and medical emergencies.
Provide CPR, First Aid, AED assistance, and other emergency response measures as needed.
Enforce pool and spa safety rules while educating guests on safe facility use.
Conduct routine inspections and test pool and spa chemical levels, maintaining accurate records.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of pool, spa, fitness, and patio areas.
Greet guests, verify hotel occupancy when required, and provide exceptional customer service.
Complete incident reports and communicate safety, maintenance, or operational concerns to management.
Follow all local, state, Marriott, and hotel safety standards.
Qualifications
1+ years of lifeguarding experience preferred; hotel, resort, recreation, or aquatic facility experience is a plus.
Current Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required.
Strong commitment to guest safety and customer service.
Ability to remain alert, focused, and professional throughout the shift.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Ability to stay calm and respond effectively during emergencies.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to stand, walk, and work in an indoor pool environment for extended periods.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
Education
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required
