Description

The Materials Handler is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate  movement, storage, and distribution of materials, supplies, and  products within a warehouse, manufacturing facility, or distribution  center. This role ensures inventory is properly received, stored, and  delivered to the correct locations in a timely manner, supporting production schedules and customer orders. 

  • Receive incoming materials, verify contents, and inspect for damage or discrepancies. 
  • Accurately, label, tag, and store materials in designated warehouse locations. 
  • Pick and stage raw materials or components for production orders. 
  • Transport  materials to and from storage, production areas, or shipping docks  using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment. 
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through barcode scanning or ERP systems. 
  • Prepare outbound shipments including packing, labeling, and documentation. 
  • Perform cycle counts and assist with periodic physical inventory. 
  • Follow proper safety procedures and comply with OSHA and company policies. 
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards. 
  • Assist with loading/unloading trucks and verifying shipment accuracy. 


Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) 
  • Prior experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or material handling role preferred  
  • Basic math and reading skills 
  • Familiarity with inventory systems, barcoding, or ERP software is a plus 
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team 
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods 
  • Forklift certification or ability to become certified 
  • Warehouse or production floor environment  
  • May require wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) 
  • Exposure to varying temperatures depending on facility conditions 
  • May involve shift work, weekends, or overtime depending on business needs
