Position Summary:
The Surveillance Agent is responsible for providing and maintaining a covert and proactive surveillance operation that protects the Company's gaming licenses and assets. This position reports directly to the Surveillance Supervisor.
 Essential Functions:
- Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting North Fork Mono Casino’s culture and always demonstrating exemplary Service Standards.
- Maintain familiarity with tribal gaming regulations, the Company’s Internal Control System, the departmental policies and procedures, and have working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws. Ability to monitor other department’s policies and procedures.
- Maintain current information on known cheaters, advantage players, scams, and illegal methods of gaming.
- Thoroughly understand Company emergency action procedures.
- Cooperate with other departments in protecting the assets of the Company.
- Attend court, hearings, and other legal meetings as a witness for North Fork Mono Casino & Resort, gaming regulatory agencies, or law enforcement agencies when appropriate.
- Operate all surveillance CCTV and related equipment, and if necessary, conduct floor observations to detect any violations of law, policies, and procedures.
- Report to the Director of Surveillance and Surveillance Supervisor any violations of the law, gaming regulations, and Company policies and procedures, as well as all pertinent information regarding the Surveillance department.
- Observe the precepts of truth, accuracy, and prudence, and do not allow personal feelings, prejudices, animosities, or friendships to interfere or influence judgments.
- Maintain strict confidentiality with respect to the operations, controls, and procedures involved in surveillance activities.
- Conduct routine random surveillance and “special observations” as approved by surveillance management.
- Conduct surveillance reviews or “audits” to confirm transactions or events.
- Contribute to overall team efforts and departmental results.
- Attends, and satisfactorily completes, all required training as assigned and required.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively with other Departments, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
- Must have knowledge, or be able to obtain knowledge of all casino games, including but not limited to, Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Baccarat, Let It Ride, Caribbean Stud Poker, Pai Gow Poker, and Slots, and understand all relevant aspects of each game, such as dealing procedures, counting strategies, and methods of cheating.
- Possess a professional and investigative attitude.
- Ability to react quickly and accurately under demanding, high stress conditions.
- Must be reliable, trustworthy, and honest.
- Able to work constantly changing schedules to adjust to fluctuating business demands, work any shifts including holidays, with fluctuating days off.
- Able to be autonomous and very low profile.
- Must be computer literate to perform daily tasks.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in one of the following fields: casino operations, law enforcement, military or security.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Commission, which includes passing a background investigation.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Physical Requirements:
- All work is performed on site in Madera, CA.
- Requires a normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color, and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
- Requires manual dexterity to perform job related functions.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to work in confined areas.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 30lbs. with or without assistance.
Work Conditions:
Team Members will be in constant contact with fellow Team Members and other Departments. Work includes the maintenance and care of the assigned work area. Work is typically in an area which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, and may contain secondhand smoke. Work may be performed in a confined area. Performance of job duties will require standing, walking, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and grasping. Work may be scheduled at various hours, including working overtime, and during evening, weekends, and holidays. Work may entail trained chemical usage.Â
