Bank of Marin, voted by our employees as one of the “Best Places to Work” in the North Bay Business Journal, is seeking a Senior Title and Escrow Coordinator to join our Credit Risk Management division in our Novato, CA office.
This position is responsible for the ordering of third-party reports (flood, environmental, title) and for coordinating loan closings for commercial real estate loans. Works with the most complex commercial real estate loans. May provide guidance and oversight to the Title & Escrow Coordinator position.
Additional Requirements:
- Strong understanding of title reports, title policies, escrow, loan documentation, and real property insurance.
- Strong understanding of different legal entities (such as Limited Liability Company, Corporation S-Corporation, Partnership), including structure of legal entities, and the implications on signature requirements and proper lien perfection.
- Strong understanding of methods of holding title to real property, and the implications on proper lien perfection.
- Strong understanding of environmental reports, including Phase I and Phase II reports.
- Strong communication skills, with ability to quickly understand and communicate concepts both verbally and in written form.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Good understanding of interrelations of bank structure including branch system, consumer loan group, construction real estate loan group, cash management, etc.
- Computer skills including, at a minimum, proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Team contributor as evidenced by positive attitude toward assisting others with job responsibilities as needed and treatment of co-workers in a positive and respectful manner
- Be able to acknowledge knowledge gaps with the ability to receive and act on feedback in a positive manner.
- Present a positive and professional appearance and demeanor to both internal and external contacts including other Bank employees, vendors, service providers.
Professional / Educational Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in a related field and minimum 3 - 5 year’s relevant banking experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
The hiring pay range for this position is $89,370 to $125,117. In addition to the pay range listed, all bank positions are eligible for incentive compensation, which varies based on role. The pay rate for a successful applicant depends on a variety of factors including but not limited to geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
