Electronics Technician

Summary

Bascom Hunter Technologies Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented, technically proficient Electronics Technician to support the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and integration of electronic systems and components. This position works closely with engineering and manufacturing teams and is well suited for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, problem solving, and working with sophisticated electronic equipment.

Bascom Hunter provides advanced solutions to the Department of Defense (DoD) and aerospace markets. Our Defense Electronics division develops, manufactures, and supports products across RF Systems, SATCOM, and Mission Computing.

Job Duties

  1. Assemble electronic modules, racks, and systems in accordance with engineering drawings, schematics, work instructions, and specifications.
  2. Perform testing and validation of electronic components, assemblies, and systems to verify functionality, performance, and reliability.
  3. Troubleshoot electrical and electronic issues encountered during engineering development, integration, testing, and production.
  4. Document test results, troubleshooting activities, rework, repairs, and corrective actions.
  5. Operate test equipment including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and power meters.
  6. Support engineers with prototype builds, system integration, test setup, and technical investigations.
  7. Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to identify opportunities to improve assembly, testing, and troubleshooting processes.
  8. Provide technical support to engineering, production, and manufacturing personnel as needed.
  9. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians as appropriate.
  10. Follow applicable safety procedures and requirements when working with electrical equipment, electronic assemblies, and hazardous materials.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant electronics technician, electronics testing, integration, or troubleshooting experience.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Hands-on experience using electronic test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and related instrumentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose electrical and electronic issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and meet schedule requirements.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new technologies, equipment, and processes.
