Job Description

As a maintenance mechanic you will install, repair, and maintain machinery and equipment. Responsibilities will also include building and maintaining mechanical systems and involve the use of a variety of hand and power tools. You may be expected to assemble, inspect, install and test new pieces of equipment to ensure they are in good working order. You will need to troubleshoot and perform emergency repairs when something malfunctions.

To be successful in this role you should have a practical mind, mechanical aptitude, and strong attention to detail as well as be able to ensure that machinery and equipment are in excellent operating condition. We prioritize a safety-first culture where every team member is expected to uphold and contribute to a safe working environment above all else.

Job Tasks:

  • Complete and perform maintenance repairs/work orders
  • Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance and service for each piece of equipment
  • Inspect machines regularly for signs of malfunctions, including visual and sound inspections
  • Use a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions
  • Work effectively with other team members in a loud environment
  • Boiler maintenance and troubleshooting including: safety, functionality, and controls
  • Advanced system troubleshooting both mechanical and electrical
  • Provides excellent internal customer service
  • Set up and installation of high speed mechanical seals
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical circuit issues, electro-pneumatic systems, control systems, motor control circuits,
  • Complete and record required daily wastewater tests

  • Emergency evacuations
  • Inspect, wear and maintain appropriate PPE
  • Ladder safety
  • Spill containment and clean-up
  • Confined space entry
  • NFPA 70e Arc Flash
  • Food Defense
  • GMP’s

Experience:

  • Computer and microprocessors experience preferred (Microsoft Word, Excel)
  • Knowledge of safety codes, electrical circuits, plant food safety requirements, NFPA 70e, isolation and elimination of energy sources
  • 2- 5 years of previous maintenance mechanic experience preferred
