We are looking for an Aviation Senior Claims Specialist - HULL  (m/f/d), to be based in our, Alpharetta, GA or O’Fallon, MO locations.

The Impact You Will Have  

As an Aviation Senior Claims Specialist, you will proactively investigate, evaluate, and negotiate the resolution of assigned aviation hull claims and third party aircraft property damageon domestic matters. You’ll work in accordance with established best practices and within granted autonomy limits, developing and maintaining relationships with brokers, clients, and internal business partners. You’ll provide efficient claims handling within the team and collaborate with third-party service providers to achieve economical results and deliver high-quality service to all stakeholders. 

 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

Investigation & Reserving

  • Investigating and adjusting claims that involve first party aviation hull losses and third party aircraft property damage on domestic matters; 

  • Evaluating and addressing aviation hull coverage issues and determine appropriate reserving levels; and 

  • Selecting and directing independent external service providers (e.g. Lawyers, Independent Adjusters, Experts). 

 

Settlement

  • Negotiate and resolve first party aviation hull and third party aviation property damage claims ensuring cost effective, service orientated solutions; and 

  • Ensure claims are settled in accordance with settlement guidelines. 

 

Referrals & Compliance

  • Ensure claims are handled within authority limits and in line with company procedures. 

  • Refer cases outside authority level, preparing referral documentation as needed. 

  • Support claims management procedures for new business accounts. 

 

Market Management

  • Support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business. 

  • Liaise with underwriters on market management initiatives. 

  • Attend industry functions. 

 

Relationship Management

  • Represent the company externally and develop relationships with brokers, clients, and stakeholders. 

  • Drive involvement of functional areas in claims handling (e.g., Underwriting, Operations). 

  • Report and present complex loss and claims information internally and externally. 

 

Claims Processing & Administration

  • Maintain accurate claims records within claims administration systems. 

  • Produce management information reports and identify loss trends. 

 

 What You’ll Bring to the Role 

  • 5 – 7 years - Detailed understanding of aviation hull claims handling process 

  • 5 – 7 years - Proven track record in handling first party hull and third party liability aviation hull claims and damage issues. 

  • Product and Coverages: Detailed understanding of aviation hull claims products, wordings, terms and conditions and coverages 

  • Solid knowledge of aviation hull claim handling from notification to settlement and recovery. 

  • Knowledge of reserving principles and practices. 

  • Negotiation skills for resolution with claimants and/or lawyers. 

  • Established relationships with brokers and strong presence in the local market (minimum 5+ years). 

  • In-depth understanding of regional/local insurance markets and competitor landscape (minimum 5+ years). 

  • Analytical skills to analyze non-complex data from multiple sources and resolve issues proactively. 

  • Experience in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve business processes and decision-making is highly beneficial.  

  • Negotiation and conflict management skills, especially in contentious situations. 

  • Bachelors Degree 

  • Insurance Industry Designations Preferred (Not required) 

  • Pilot's license and/or Airframe & Powerplant Ratings preferred 

  • Proficiency in office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). 

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal. 

  • Experience in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve business processes and decision-making is highly beneficial.  
  • Fluent English skills, any other languages advantageous. 

 

The annualized base pay range for this role is $117,217 - $197,722. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package.  As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
