Make an immediate impact. Bascom Hunter is building advanced aerospace and defense hardware. We’re looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to develop, scale, and optimize manufacturing processes from prototype through full-rate production. This role bridges design, production, and supply chain to ensure products are built efficiently, sourced effectively, and delivered to the highest quality standards.
What You’ll Do
- Develop, optimize and maintain manufacturing processes and documentation for new and existing designs: Define build sequences, MBOMs, inspection plans, tooling, fixturing, and work instructions for precision electronics assemblies. Train production and maintenance personnel for new processes and equipment.
- Drive design for manufacturability (DFM/DFA): Partner with design engineering to improve producibility, reduce cost, and ensure robust tolerancing, inspection and test methods.
- Assist and/or drive design on Mechanical Engineering for sheet metal and machined parts (brackets/racks), assemblies and systems, cables, and wire harnesses.
- Validate production readiness: Plan and execute First Article Inspections (FAI), process qualifications, and capability assessments to ensure stable, repeatable output.
- Resolve production issues: Assist root cause analysis and corrective actions for nonconformances, yield loss, and process variability. Assist with NCR’s, RMA’s and repeat legacy orders and applying lessons learned towards new products and programs.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations to align on production goals, schedules, and compliance requirements.
- Ensure compliance: Adhere to AS9100D, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements, including special processes and inspection standards.
