Job Summary

St. Dominic High School is a Catholic co-educational high school serving approximately 1,150 students in grades 9–12. Rooted in the values and traditions of Catholic education, the school is committed to academic excellence, faith formation, and preparing students for college, career, and service.

St. Dominic High School is seeking a full-time HVAC Instructor for the Building Trades Program for the 2026–2027 school year. The instructor will provide students with foundational knowledge and hands-on training in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems while fostering professionalism, technical skills, safety awareness, and strong work ethic in a faith-centered learning environment.

Applicants are not required to hold a teaching certification. Preferred candidates will have industry experience and/or prior work experience in HVAC or related trades.

Job Responsibilities

  • Teach HVAC and related building trades courses to high school students in grades 9–12
  • Develop and deliver hands-on, industry-relevant instruction and demonstrations
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and productive classroom/lab environment
  • Instruct students in proper use of tools, equipment, and safety procedures
  • Prepare lesson plans, assignments, projects, and assessments aligned with program goals
  • Encourage professionalism, teamwork, problem-solving, and workplace readiness skills
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records and grades
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, faculty, and administration
  • Collaborate with school staff to support student success and program development
  • Model Christian values, professionalism, and respect in all interactions
  • Support the mission and philosophy of Catholic education
  • Follow all diocesan, school, and safety policies and procedures

Job Requirements

  • HVAC industry experience preferred
  • Prior teaching or training experience is beneficial but not required
  • Teaching certification is not required
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively with high school students
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and engaging learning environment
  • Willingness to support the mission and values of Catholic education
