Job Summary
Summary<br>The primary purpose of your job as a member of the nursing staff is to assist the nursing staff under the supervision of a licensed nurse. You will participate in a wide range of patient care activities, for a mainly geriatric population, functions and services for assigned patients, which include direct care and task oriented assignments.<br><br>Does this position require Patient Care?<br>Yes<br><br>Essential Functions<br>-Implements patient care: <br>-Implements clinical and technical aspects of care and nursing orders in accordance with established policies and procedures. <br>
-Intervenes with proper technique, procedure and safety precautions to meet individual needs of patient. <br>
-Implements physician’s orders. <br>
-Documents nursing intervention, patient response, effectiveness, complications, etc. communicates information to licensed nursing personnel. <br>
-Consults with all available in-house resource personnel and departments for treatment. <br>
-Respects dignity and confidentiality of patient acting as an advocate. <br>
-Provides a safe and secure environment for patient. <br>
-Functions within limits of hospital and nursing department policies and procedures. <br>
-Performs in a calm and professional manner during crisis and/or emergency situation. <br>
-Accountability: Quality of work. <br>
-Adheres to nursing dress code and wears identification pin. <br>
-Demonstrates organizational skills in providing nursing care by ability to adopt changing workloads. <br>
-Daily assignments are completed within an 8-hour shift without compromising the quality of care. <br>

-Prepares patient rooms on admission, daily, and upon patient request. <br>

-Patient transportation. <br>
-Maintains open communication channels with all colleagues and supervisors. <br>
-Communicates factual and pertinent information in report. <br>
-Documents according to policy. <br>
