CLA is currently seeking a Banking and Specialty Finance Tax Manager/Director to join—and ultimately help lead—our Financial Services Tax practice. This role is designed for a strategic, growth‑minded individual who will help to guide the long‑term direction, talent development, and client strategy of the group.
How you’ll create opportunities in this Tax role:
- Consult with clients on business processes such as succession and tax planning.
- Lead, schedule, supervise, and review tax engagements.
- Develop and train team members to help them build inspired careers.
- Foster and build opportunities for our clients, communities, and people.
- Become an industry professional and attend industry-leading events and trainings.
- Perform a range of tax procedures in accordance with the size and complexity of the engagement.
- Review complex individual and corporate tax returns.
What you will need:
- You have a minimum of 6 years of experience serving in a tax role with a public accounting firm.
- You have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA is required. JD or EA may be accepted in place of CPA certification.
- Deep understanding of tax issues affecting banks, insurance companies, investment funds, and specialty finance entities.
- Strong technical knowledge of ASC 740, partnership taxation, REITs, and financial instruments.

The compensation range for this position in Minnesota is $92,000.00 - $165,000.00
The compensation range for this position in Illinois is $95,000.00 - $171,000.00
