The Driver Onboarding Coordinator is an integral member of the team who is responsible for hiring, lease approval, and qualifying independent drivers, owner-operators, and company driver applicants. These activities must be completed in a timely manner without sacrificing accuracy and regulatory compliance. The Driver Onboarding Coordinator will be responsible for a through vetting process which includes retrieving various data, reviewing data collected, conducting interviews, verifying accuracy of application and verifying collections of all required records. This process is the initial exposure to our safety expectations and should be emphasized.Â
Essential Job Functions:
- Vetting of candidates
- Review submitted applications
- Screen for qualifications
- Conduct background investigations
- Conduct phone interviews
- Submit and collect all past employment verifications, or document attempts within HGT and DOT guidelines
- Verify accurate completion of all required documents in accordance with HGT and regulatory guidelines
- Verify completion of all HGT and regulatory required post offer testing (such as DOT medical exam, drug screen collection, etc.).
- Verify negative results applicant’s “Pre-employment drug screen” prior to hire
- Communicate status of applicant as needed
- Professional and courteous communications at all times (heavy phone volume)
- Complete termination process and updates
Secondary Tasks
- Schedule candidates into orientation
- Arrange Transportation for approved applicants to orientation
- Communicate, as needed, with other departments and colleagues
- Complete reports as needed and assigned
- Complete tasks and projects as assigned
- May include lease upgrades and tag inventory and distribution management
- Complete Rider Authorization forms and verify insurance coverage
- Duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or changed from time to time
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Operations Management, Human Resources or similar degree is preferred, but not required
- Must have excellent communications skills - interpersonal, verbal, written, telephone and be able to interact well with others in a team environment
- Organizational and problem solving skills with the ability to establish and prioritize workload in order to meet team and company goals using good business judgment
- Proficient with web-based applications and with Microsoft products including Word and Excel
- Must be able to manage competing priorities by multi-tasking and meeting all deadlines and flexibility with continually changing priorities while providing high quality customer service

Salary:Â Up to $22.00/hourÂ
This is an estimated range based on the circumstances at the time of posting, however it may change based on a combination of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, education, market factors, geographical location, budget, and demand.Â
