We are seeking a skilled and motivated Survey Crew Chief to help lead our field survey operations and ensure accurate data collection for survey, civil engineering and land development projects. This role supervises survey technicians, operates survey equipment, and coordinates daily field activities while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Experience with survey field equipment (GPS, total station, electronic level, data collectors).
  • Extensive knowledge of surveying field practice and procedure.
  • Ability to read and interpret survey and engineering plans, plats and drawings.
  • Knowledge of different types of surveys (e.g. ALTA surveys, exhibits, Engineering basemaps, Certified Survey Maps, etc.)
  • Importing field data and drawing basic line work of field collected data.
  • Perform boundary, topographic, record drawings surveys and construction staking services.
  • Oversee construction staking in the field.
  • Ability to train and mentor survey crew members as needed.
  • Plan daily field activities and assign tasks to crew members.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients as needed.
  • Enforce safety procedures and company policies in the field.

 

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.
  • 2-year survey or civil engineer tech program (preferred).
  • CST certification (preferred).
  • CAD certificate (preferred).
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience (preferred).
