Oak Grove: Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel (the “Property”) is a newer facility in a high traffic area in the heart of Oak Grove, Kentucky, and across the street from a large Army post, Ft. Campbell.  The Property is 10 miles from Clarksville, TN and less than 60 miles northwest of downtown Nashville, TN.

JOB SUMMARY

The Bar Back ensures and maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of the bar outlets. Is also responsible for delivery, maintenance, stocking, cleaning, and ensuring a sufficient supply of products in the Food & Beverage venues. Services to include assistance in setup or breaking functions periodically or as needed. #OakGrove

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Able to perform under stressful, demanding situations in perhaps small quarters of four feet or less, with four foot access and contact with team members and guests. Ability to work in a smoking environment.
  • Rotate products First In, First Out; maintain inventory and order strictly on a bottle for bottle basis, as used.
  • Ensures and maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the bar outlet.
  • Work with communication devices such as telephones, two-way radio and bulletin boards.
  • Interacts and speaks with guests to maintain great guest relations and provide opportunities for loyalty to occur.
  • Ensures all beverages with approved recipes and proper garnishes; with timely bar and alcohol service to all guests while maintaining proper alcohol awareness procedures.
  • Assists the Food and Beverage Supervisor with proper inventory controls, proper rotation of product, checking use through code dates on beer and dairy products and date labeling of fresh cut fruits and vegetables. Stocks and rotates all products and cuts fresh fruit daily.
  • Maintains confidentiality and security of relevant information.
  • Performs and assists with routine inventory on a daily basis of all required stock per area of responsibility.
  • Ensures that requisitions are delivered in a timely manner
  • Understands the importance of prompt and efficient service and continually demonstrates this to the Bartenders, Servers, Concession Attendants and Leadership
  • Ensures availability to complete/perform special functions as directed by Leadership
  • Demonstrates exceptional time management skills and responds promptly when on in house radio contact
  • Demonstrates the ability to maintain equipment standards.  Reports any equipment malfunctions immediately
  • Always follows department training standards. (i.e.: clean-as-you-go, re-check guest)
  • Always adheres to departmental guidelines for sanitation and safety standards
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated record of successful interpersonal skills in regard to working with diverse people and levels of authority.
  • Multi-task ability and able to complete all tasks with minimal supervision and show a sense of urgency, no matter what the business volume.
  • Ability to cash-handle correctly.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, and body language.
  • This position requires sufficient experience, education, and job knowledge to meet current business needs.
  • Maintaining the accuracy of supplies, verification of quantities, and tracking backorders.
  • Maintaining interpersonal working relationships among all personnel
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and handle high-pressure situations in an interruptive environment
  • Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience preferred.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.
