We are currently seeking a Cook for Riveredge Hospital. Simply apply to the posting and discuss your interests with the hiring manager if you are selected to come in for an interview.

Riveredge Hospital is seeking an experienced Cook to work with our Dietary Team in the preparation and service of breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as special event meals for patients and facility staff.

 

Key Responsibilities: Maintain high standards in the preparation of quality hot and cold foods following established recipes. Assist with special event catering functions as assigned by the Dietary Director. Maintain Service Excellence in all special functions hosted by the Riveredge Dietary Department. Ensure proper storage, labeling and ordering of all items. Participate in daily food production as needed. Ensure quality and safety standards for preparing and serving food. Work closely with nutritionist to ensure efficient management of special diet preparation and apply any special dietary restrictions to recipes. Keeping all storage areas clean and free of clutter. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards. Notify supervisor of unsafe equipment or situations noticed.


Qualifications

Minimum job requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Previous catering experience required. 2-3 years prior food service experience required, experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Must be reliable with a good working attitude.
  • Aptitude should include verbal ability to express ideas and view effectively.
  • Position is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.
