Position Summary:
DCL America is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler is responsible for receiving, storing, tracking, and shipping materials to support daily warehouse operations. This position helps maintain inventory accuracy, prepares outgoing shipments, and ensures materials are handled safely and efficiently. To support daily warehouse and production operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, reach truck (standup) and other material handling equipment to transport materials throughout the facility.
· Move materials efficiently and safely using heavy forklifts.
· Ensure production departments receive the correct materials in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
· Ensure trucks are loaded/unloaded correctly with accurate counts for shipping/receiving.
· Verify material identification, heat numbers, and plate information are maintained throughout the material handling process.
· Support continuous improvement efforts to improve inventory accuracy, material flow, and warehouse organization.
· Support cross-functional warehouse operations including order picking, packing, cycle counting, and assisting with training new operators
· Pick, Pack and prepare finished goods for shipment
· Follow all company safety policies and procedures
· Keep the warehouse, shop, and yard clean and organized; move tools on/off racks. Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
· Assist with shipping and receiving documentation
· Other duties may be assigned as needed
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED required
· Shipping/Receiving; Warehouse Experience
· Material Handler Experience; Loading/Unloading Vehicles
· Tape Measure Reading; Shop Math
· Forklift Licensed; Overhead Crane
· Basic computer skills for inventory tracking systems
· Ability to read and interpret work orders and shipping documents
· Energetic, dependable, detail oriented and organizational skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 150 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach as required.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
Work Environment:
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, noise levels, dust, and other industrial manufacturing conditions.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots.
