Job Summary:

We are seeking a Design Engineering Manager to lead and oversee design engineering activities for mission-critical programs. This role is responsible for managing a multidisciplinary team focused on mechanical, structural, and process design for advanced centrifuge systems and supporting equipment. The manager will ensure technical excellence, compliance with design control requirements, and timely delivery of engineering solutions that meet safety, regulatory, and performance standards.

What You Will Do:

Oversee design activities for enrichment devices, and support systems, including CAD modeling, tolerance analysis, and material selection. Ensure compliance with Design Control processes and maintain configuration integrity in partnership with Configuration Management. Mentor and manage a diverse team of design engineers, balancing technical depth with professional growth and leadership development. Collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and project management teams to support mission-critical programs, ensuring designs meet functional and regulatory requirements. Communicate technical findings clearly to executives, stakeholders, and customers, translating complex design concepts into actionable insights

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.        
  • 10+ years in design engineering for complex mechanical systems; 3+ years in leadership role. 
  • Proficiency in CAD and PDM systems; experience with GD&T and design for manufacturability. 
  • Familiarity with ASME standards and nuclear quality assurance requirements (e.g., NQA-1).
  • Experience with formal Design Control and engineering change processes. 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOE 'Q' clearance.
