Position Overview
Chitina Diversified Services is seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager (QCM) to support federal construction projects in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
The QCM will manage project-specific quality control activities to ensure construction complies with contract documents, specifications, approved submittals, applicable codes, and federal requirements. This position requires strong field knowledge, documentation skills, and the authority and judgment to address work that does not meet established quality or safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily project quality control activities.
- Prepare and maintain QC reports, submittal logs, inspection records, and related documentation.
- Review shop drawings and submittals for specification compliance.
- Chair and document required QC meetings.
- Conduct preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections for definable features of work.
- Document non-conformances and verify corrective action.
- Verify delivered materials conform to approved submittals and storage requirements.
- Document testing, commissioning, punch-list, and closeout activities.
- Maintain project as-built drawings and closeout documentation.
- Coordinate code inspections and required testing.
- Exercise stop-work authority when quality or safety is compromised.
Required/Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management, or 10 years of applicable construction experience.
- Minimum 5 years of QCM experience on federal/USACE construction projects.
- USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQM-C) certification.
- OSHA 30-Hour certification.
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications.
- NQA-1 QA/QC experience preferred.
- United States Citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance required.
- Strong understanding of civil, architectural, mechanical, and electrical construction.
- Knowledge of construction sequencing, scheduling, inspections, and change-order impacts.
- Strong documentation, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
