Job Highlights
- Evaluate site maintenance management systems and work processes against LANXESS standards and recognized industry best practices.
- Lead activites on reviewing how maintenance work is identified, prioritized, planned, scheduled, executed, and closed out.
- Identify performance gaps, systemic issues, and improvement opportunities impacting asset reliability, safety, compliance, and cost.
- Use asset performance data, KPIs, and reliability metrics to support fact‑based assessments, recommendations, and execution of agreed deliverables.
- Acts as a senior technical authority for maintenance and reliability, leading rotating equipment improvement initiatives, failure reduction programs, and lifecycle cost evaluations. Provides technical leadership, develops specifications and standards, drives root cause–based reliability solutions, and mentors early‑career engineers to strengthen long‑term asset performance and organizational capability.
- Leverages best practices across sites to continuously improve asset management tools and programs, identifies and drives targeted improvement opportunities through performance analysis, and builds strong, collaborative relationships across sites and functions to deliver results through effective teamwork and cross‑functional engagement.
Experience / Skills

- BS Mechanical Engineering, >10 yrs experience.
- Mechanical & Reliability Engineering Expertise
- Strong foundation in mechanical engineering with hands-on experience in rotating equipment and asset reliability within an industrial or chemical manufacturing environment.
- Condition Monitoring & Diagnostics
- Proficient in vibration analysis, oil analysis, infrared thermography, and other inspection and predictive maintenance techniques; familiarity with non-destructive testing methods.
- Reliability & Failure Analysis Methods
- Practical experience applying RCM, FMEA, and Root Cause Analysis to improve equipment reliability and prevent recurring failures.
- Standards, Safety & Compliance Knowledge
- Working knowledge of machinery safety standards (e.g., ANSI B11 series) and best practices for safe equipment operation.
- Industry-Specific Technical Understanding
- Understanding of common process equipment damage mechanisms in the chemical industry.
- Professional Certification & Credibility - Preferred certifications in vibration analysis, lubrication, reliability (CMRP), and professional engineering (PE), demonstrating technical depth and professional rigor.
