Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain landscapes, farms, edible gardens, and outdoor spaces at residential and commercial properties throughout the Bay Area
- Perform regular landscape maintenance, including pruning, weeding, planting, watering, fertilizing, mulching, and general site upkeep
- Maintain edible gardens through planting, harvesting, crop care, soil management, and seasonal preparation
- Identify common ornamental, native, and edible plants and provide appropriate care to keep them healthy and looking their best
- Monitor plants for common pest, disease, irrigation, and plant health issues and communicate concerns to the Lead or Crew Leader
- Maintain and troubleshoot irrigation systems and identify basic irrigation problems
- Provide ongoing care and pruning for fruit trees
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently while maintaining a high standard of quality
- Follow daily work plans and priorities and communicate proactively when tasks cannot be completed as planned
- Keep landscape areas, sidewalks, pathways, and other work areas clean, organized, and free of debris
- Perform hands-on landscape work including digging, raking, shoveling, planting, pruning, loading, unloading, and moving materials, tools, and equipment
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe tools, equipment, vehicles, and work areas
- Work collaboratively with other gardeners and support the Lead or Crew Leader in completing daily site priorities
- Communicate with clients in a friendly and professional manner and provide appropriate updates when requested
- Follow Farmscape work standards, horticultural practices, and safety procedures
- Provide quality work and represent Farmscape professionally at client properties
- Drive between project sites, supply vendors, and company locations; a valid driver's license is required
- Take on additional responsibilities and develop skills as needed to support the team and company
- Perform other landscaping, gardening, farming, and maintenance tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- 1+ years experience in landscaping, gardening, farming, horticulture, grounds maintenance, or a related field
- Working knowledge of plants, including basic identification, pruning, planting, watering, fertilizing, and general plant care.
- Curiosity, resourcefulness, tenacity and strong work ethic are required.Â
- Ability to communicate clearly, confidently, and professionally with customers and staff
- Ability to learn and adapt to Farmscape best practices
- Organizational skills and attention to detail a must
- Valid driver’s license & proof of insurance.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting schedules.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and solutions-focused in high-pressure settings.
Physical Demands:Â
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Ability to perform manual work, lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of timeÂ
- Ability to perform physical labor outdoors in various weather conditions
