Values: Dignity & Respect | Ownership & Initiative | Commitment to Quality & Craft | Learning & Growth Together Position Summary: The Maintenance Technician is a diversified role responsible for supporting the general upkeep of our Oakland MD location in the areas of production support, groundskeeping, painting, and other trades (e.g. electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and welding). This position is an opportunity for a motivated individual to grow as a professional in the building and maintenance trades in a fast-paced manufacturing, retail and office environment. Along with maintaining a clean, safe and functional work environment this position should be willing and able to learn how to troubleshoot, install, and repair building support and production equipment, following the lead of more experienced maintenance technicians. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Prepares and loads daily the glass pellet mix used in the production of our glass. Performs regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities (e.g. changing filters and belts, greasing bearings, monitoring equipment performance). Performs buildings and grounds maintenance (painting, drywall, drain cleaning, framing, mowing, shoveling, etc.). Use a variety of hand and power tools, electrical meters, and industrial material handling equipment including a forklift, crane, hoist, glass crusher and mixer. Performs welding, metal work, and refractory casting to support fabrication of custom machinery. Conducts electrical and plumbing troubleshooting. Proactively helps identify and address maintenance needs. Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas. Helps maintain daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance checklists. Under the direction of a supervisor, performs required maintenance and services as appropriate. Performs occasional janitorial work, as needed. All other duties as assigned QualificationsQualifications Required: Motivated to learn Possess basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skills Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.
