Description
St. Charles Borromeo Parish and Academy is seeking a full-time Maintenance Supervisor (40 hours a week) with experience and knowledge of equipment, materials, and tools used in building maintenance and repairs. Â Â St. Charles Borromeo Parish is open seven days a week; therefore attendance reliability is imperative. Occasional schedule flexibility is needed from the normal Monday through Friday shift for holidays or weekend events. This position will supervise the maintenance staff and report to the Pastor.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Supervise the maintenance, renovation, restoration and upkeep of multiple buildings(including school, offices, parish, etc.), mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems and grounds.
- Supervise maintenance employees, may also supervise outside contractors.
- Conduct preventative maintenance, safety and energy audits.
- Provide excellent customer service through positive interactions with staff, students, parishioners, and guests. A positive demeanor and composure is required.
- Perform building maintenance and repairs such as painting, floor refinishing, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical, etc.
Physical Demands:
Employee is required to lift, walk, sit and stand for prolonged periods of time; carry, push, and/or pull; walk, frequent stooping kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders. Employee must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions - rain, snow, sleet, and heat.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Maintenance supervisory experience preferred.Â
- Working knowledge of equipment, materials, supplies and tools used in building maintenance and repairs.
- Knowledge of first aid and safety precautions.
- Ability to work productively and cooperatively with co-workers, supervisors and the general public.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to work professionally, safely, and follow all safety rules and procedures. Have awareness of student, parishioner, staff and guest safety at all times.
- Ability to communicate effectively with verbal and written instructions.
- Willingness to work weekends if needed.
