Job DetailsJob Location: OC - Ocala, FL 34481Position Type: Full TimeJob Summary/Overview   The Assistant Equipment Manager is responsible for assisting in major and minor mechanical repairs on a variety of gasoline, diesel, and electric-powered equipment. This position keeps all equipment in efficient, operable condition and organizes and maintains a clean service area and maintenance building.    Essential Duties and Responsibilities   The following statements describe the principal functions of this position and the scope of responsibility, but should not be considered an all-inclusive listing of work requirements.  Individuals may be expected to perform other duties as assigned, including working in other areas to cover absences or balance the workload.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   Inspects, adjusts, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical defects in the many types of golf course maintenance equipment and vehicles Performs general overhaul of motors and repairs transmissions, differentials, carburetors, distributors, fuel pumps, steering systems, starters, generators, universal joints, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and high-pressure pumps and valves Installs and adjusts brakes and installs batteries, tires, and wiring Performs machine and/or welding work for fittings used in maintenance equipment Performs occasional painting or body repair work Maintains records of preventative maintenance, repairs made, orders, and time worked Keeps the maintenance building neat with parts and tools put up when not in use Trains new crew members in the proper procedures of greasing, verifying adequate oil level, and fueling equipment Assists in maintaining inventory, ordering parts, and reordering stock items Assists in the transportation of broken equipment   Helps to inventory and keep track of tools and equipment Communicates any equipment issues and downtime to the supervisor Performs all duties in adherence to OTOW standards Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward all residents, visitors, and co-workers Performs other duties as assigned professionally presents self and uses discretion at all times Qualifications (Education, Experience, Technical Skills)   Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required Previous experience as a mechanic required Knowledge of preventative maintenance, mechanical repairs, and record keeping Qualifications
