Job DetailsJob Location: Heart of Florida Health Center CENTRAL - Ocala, FL 34471Position Type: Full Time Job Summary    The Center Nurse Manager is responsible for the delivery of high-quality patient care by organizing, directing and planning the clinical operations of the clinical support staff within the Heart of Florida Health Centers. They ensure staff adherence to organizational policies and procedures and competence in the performance of clinical skills.  Oversees supply, medication and vaccine inventory management and ensures all medical and clinical equipment is calibrated and operational.  Creates a cohesive team that mentors, supports and communicates openly and holds each other accountable no matter what department collaborating with. The Center Nurse Manager reports to and assists the Chief Nursing Officer with day-to-day clinical management.    Qualifications and Requirements    Current licensure as an RN with at least 3-5 years of nursing leadership experience   Experience in FQHC setting and physician practice preferred. Skilled in the provision of primary care or at least 2 years of bedside nursing hospital experience  Skilled in procedures such as phlebotomy, EKGs, handling of urgent care, assisting with emergencies, preparing patients for exams, assisting with physical examinations, preparation of specimens for lab, administration of injections and other necessary drugs in adherence to providers written orders  Patient care instruction and telephone triage is expected  A person in this position must be a visionary with supervisory experience, mature judgment, good leadership, interprofessional, communication and computer skills are a must  The ability to delegate responsibilities, create a climate of teamwork, and ensure accountability among those supervised  Must maintain current BLS certification from nationally recognized organizations that include hands-on skills verification. Online-only or non-recognized certifications are not accepted.  Must demonstrate excellent internal and external customer service skills  The nurse manager must demonstrate an understanding of the intent, and follow standards, guidelines and protocols related to achieving and maintaining certifications by outside agencies  Must demonstrate a personal and professional commitment to Heart of Florida Health Center and its Mission Statement  Ability to provide bilingual patient care is a plus  Essential Functions    Must be able to perform all essential functions of a registered nurse in alignment with the Florida Board of Nursing  Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements  Maintains nursing guidelines by assisting with writing and updating policies and procedures and communicating changes to his/her assigned team  Maintains nursing operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing program, operational and personnel policies and procedures   Assures quality of care by assisting in developing and interpreting philosophy and standards of care; enforcing adherence to state board of nursing and state nurse practice act requirements and to other governing agency regulations; measuring health outcomes against standards; making or recommending adjustments  Maintains nursing staff by assisting in recruiting, retention, selection, orienting, and training clinical support staff  Coaches, counsels, and disciplines clinical support staff as needed.   Plans, monitors and appraises job results while also completes skills validations on medical assistants, licensed practical nurses, phlebotomists, and clinical team leads  Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients, staff and families.   Responsible for ensuring that clinical support staff are able to perform the basic skills specific to their role and in accordance with their licensure and certification  Responsible for ensuring telephone triage, fax inbox monitoring, and employee attendance is executed according to policy and procedure  Collaborates with clinical and operational team to assist with calling patients to reschedule appointments when needed   Responsible for ensuring clinical support staff are able to receive and relay accurate information between patient and provider, provider to patient; able to communicate and document accurate information with regard to medications, referrals, patient information and scheduling  Responsible for evaluating patient flow and efficiency of the practice, as it pertains to the clinical support staff and make appropriate adjustments and recommendations. Center Nurse Manager will coordinate with Center Managers and Clinical Team Lead  Protects patients and employees by developing and interpreting infection control policies and protocols; enforcing medication administration regulations and vaccine storage and handling procedures  Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by monitoring confidential information processing-maintaining strict adherence with all HIPAA regulations  Audits patient records for documentation of patient care    Achieves financial objectives as set annually and initiating corrective actions  Maintains a cooperative collaborative relationship among clinical leadership team by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport and participating in team problem solving methods   Ensures patient safety goals are adhered to and assists center staff in preparation for all audits occurring on an annual basis  Assumes responsibility for assignment and overview of all clinical support duties in addition to patient care, such as ordering of supplies, maintenance and QA of the lab, maintenance of regulatory permits where appropriate, vaccination logs, AED logs, and Oxygen logs  Participates in and leads staff meetings, in-services, and management activities throughout the organization, including periodic attendance at morning huddles and PCMH meetings  Investigates and resolves complaints in a real-time environment such as employee relations, customer service (i.e., patient concerns or complaints), incident reports, and facility requests  Collaborates/delegates to clinical team leads as appropriate  Places orders, monitors inventory for vaccinations, monitors vaccine expirations, vaccine compliance through the Florida Shots online system based on vaccination usage and inventory on hand  Leads preceptor program and assists with creation of training/re-training materials  Oversees Licensed Practical Nurses and care plan logs/implementations at covering locations  Completes any other job-related responsibilities or duties assigned by the Chief Nursing Officer    HFHC has reviewed this job description to ensure that essential functions and basic duties have been included.  It is intended to provide guidelines for job expectations and the team members ability to perform the position described.  It is not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all functions, responsibilities, skills and abilities.  Additional functions and requirements may be assigned by leadership team members as deemed appropriate.  This document does not represent a contract of employment, and HFHC reserves the right to change this job description and/or assign tasks for the team member to perform, as HFHC may deem appropriate.    Physical Requirements  Frequent sitting at a desk for office work.  Occasional driving of automobiles for outside appointments and meetings.  Continuous use of corrected vision, depth perception, wide field of vision, and color. Also, the job will demand continuous use of olfactory, auditory, and tactile senses.  This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day.   Duties require attention to detail, alertness, problem-solving, tolerance to stress, and  exercising sound judgment  This employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 10 pounds.  Must be able to lift, carry and handle equipment, supplies, and other work site materials according to position requirements  Assists with skills simulation which could involve actively participating as a patient actor and/or physically lifting equipment utilized for instruction  Qualifications
