Cook - Assisted Living Community
Grand Villa of Ocala is seeking a dedicated and experienced full-time cook to join our compassionate team at our assisted living community. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and residents’ preferences
- Ensure all food is prepared safely, hygienically, and in compliance with health regulations
- Plan menus that are nutritious, balanced, and appealing to residents
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food preparation areas
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
- Collaborate with staff to accommodate special dietary needs and restrictions
- Follow all safety procedures and food handling protocols
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a cook, preferably in a healthcare, assisted living, or senior care setting
- Knowledge of dietary requirements for seniors and special diets
- Ability to work efficiently and manage time effectively
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety standards
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work full-time hours, including weekends and holidays if required
- Food handler’s certification or willingness to obtain one
