Job Summary
The Aluminum Welder and Chop Saw Operator will weld and braze metal pieces and products by using flame-cutting and hand welding equipment. Will also use a chop saw to cut metal pieces of varying lengths and configurations.聽
Essential Job Functions
路 Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.
路 Repairs and fabricates various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment.
路 Monitors the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
路 Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
路 Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
路 Set-up, lay-out, and tack-up of various precision frame weldments and brackets
路 Tack-up structures to tight tolerance
路 Move parts and heavy frames on and off machinery and throughout the facility
路 Square up and weld various shapes of components
路 Weld both vertical and horizontal planes
Education and Experience
Completion of a formal program or one-two years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Equipment/Machinery Used
Welding machines, Mig welder, chop saw, 4.5 inch and 7-inch angle grinder, manual vertical band saw, pedestal grinder, and various clamps and fixtures; basic manual milling machine, forklift, tape measure, hand tools.
Required Qualifications/Training
路 Background check and pre-employment drug screening required
路 Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding including designs, uses, maintenance and repair.
路 Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans, drawings, models and blueprints.
路 Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.
路 Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments
Please note: All employees must also be able to work in a warehouse setting that includes exposure to noise, all weather conditions, small levels of airborne particles and occasionally lift more than 50-75lbs. 聽Safety training and equipment are provided by MPP in accordance with applicable law, industry standards, and company policy.
