TERI is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our Center for the Arts team and play a key role in supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position combines hands-on behavior support with staff mentorship, training, crisis intervention, and program operations.


Working under the supervision of a TERI BCBA, you'll implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans, collect and analyze behavioral data, coach direct support staff, and help ensure consistent, high-quality behavioral support across classroom and community settings. You'll also serve as a flexible resource to the program, stepping in to provide direct client support and maintain continuity of care when staffing needs arise.

Your Role & Responsibilities –

  • Implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans, instructional plans, and active support strategies in classroom and community settings.
  • Mentor, coach, and train Direct Support Professionals on behavior support strategies, active support, crisis prevention, and TERI standards.
  • Collect, analyze, and document behavioral data, participant progress, incidents, injuries, and other required reports.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support using approved PABS/ABST techniques to maintain participant and staff safety.
  • Support participant assessments, intakes, goal development, and ongoing program needs in collaboration with the BCBA and Program Directors.
  • Assist with daily program operations and provide direct participant coverage when staffing needs arise, including supporting activities of daily living, transportation, and community activities.
  • Observe staff performance and provide constructive feedback while helping promote consistent, high-quality implementation of behavior support strategies.


Qualifications –

  • Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential required.
  • 3+ years of direct experience working with children or adults with significant special needs and behavioral disorders, OR a bachelor's degree in Education, Human Development, Psychology, or a related field combined with a minimum of two 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing Behavior Intervention Plans and collecting behavioral data.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and summarize data in both numerical and written formats.
  • Ability to provide staff coaching, modeling, and constructive feedback in classroom and community-based environments.

Ability to respond calmly and effectively during behavioral crises and utilize approved crisis intervention techniques.

 

Pay –

$30.00 Hourly
