TERI is seeking a Community Agriculture Direct Support Professional to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through hands-on farming, animal care, vocational training, and community-based employment experiences. You'll work alongside participants in the field, helping them build practical job skills, confidence, independence, and meaningful connections within their community.


The Community Agriculture Direct Support Professional serves as a mentor, coach, and hands-on instructor for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities participating in TERI's community agriculture and vocational programs. This role combines direct participant support with daily agricultural operations, including farming, animal care, harvesting, produce and egg preparation, CSA distribution, and community deliveries.

Your Role & Responsibilities –

  • Support participants in hands-on farming, agricultural, vocational, and community-based activities while developing job and life skills.
  • Provide direct instruction, coaching, encouragement, and supervision while promoting participant independence, safety, and engagement.
  • Perform hands-on agricultural tasks including harvesting, washing, sorting, packaging, and preparing produce and eggs for distribution.
  • Care for chicken coops and support animal care activities, including cleaning, sanitation, egg collection, and maintaining safe work areas.
  • Transport participants, produce, supplies, feed, donations, and other materials between agricultural sites, TERI locations, residential homes, vendors, and community partners.
  • Teach participants practical skills related to agriculture, food handling, packaging, inventory management, customer service, and workplace safety.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas, vehicles, tools, equipment, and facilities while completing required participant and program documentation.


Qualifications –

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability and willingness to perform hands-on agricultural and outdoor work, including harvesting, cleaning, packaging, animal care, and maintaining agricultural areas.
  • Ability to work effectively with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities while providing hands-on instruction, supervision, and support.
  • Valid California Driver's License and ability to safely transport participants using agency vehicles.
  • Ability to work independently, manage changing priorities, and maintain a safe and productive environment.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, reliability, and interpersonal skills.


Pay –

$20.00 Hourly
