We’re seeking a DSP-1 Flex Support Professional to join our TERI team!


The DSP-1 Flex Support Professional is responsible for delivering direct support and training to participants for the Center for the Arts program. This includes overseeing daily program activities related to Active Treatment, Behavior Modification, Behavior Emergency Safety Training, CPR, SFA, and other specified protocols, while ensuring adherence to individual education and program plans. The Flex DSP's dynamic position allows for flexibility in class assignments, enabling them to step into the responsibilities of the permanent Instructor as needed, thus maintaining continuity and quality of support for all participants. As such, the DSP-1 Flex Support Professional is not assigned to a permanent group of individuals, but rather supports the overall daily staffing needs and operations of the program.

 

Your Role & Responsibilities –

  • Responsible for directing the training, supervision, and management of program participants as assigned; ensuring individuals receive appropriate support and instruction.
  • Develop and complete necessary documentation for data sheet development and documentation, semi-annual progress reports, annual goals, adaptive behavior support plan charts, communication logs, medication distribution, request forms, and report any incidents and injuries.
  • Provides direct care and training to developmental individuals with moderate to profound disability who may engage in aggressive, assaultive acting-out behaviors that require Behavior Emergency Safety Training (BEST) techniques.
  • Developing creative and client-appropriate activities requires understanding the interests, abilities, and preferences of the individuals involved.
  • Design engaging materials and activities that promote skill development and foster social interaction.
  • Deliver behavior management services with BEST techniques, use of calm rooms, counseling, and behavior management program delivery.
  • Provide support to classroom instructors, staff, and volunteers.


Qualifications –

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination in developmentally disabled individual, preferably in a day program setting.
  • Must be able to obtain Class B Driver’s License with 2 Years Clean Driving Record

Pay –

$23.00 Hourly
