Welder

JOB FUNCTIONS:

Performs and manages all facets of welding and/or fabricating aluminum frames. Squaring and measuring to assure frames are proper length and width. Jig building and maintenance. Fit and assemble parts by clamping or tack welding in preparation for welding. Perform welding in any position to exact standards for penetration, fusion, strength, and cosmetics and to avoid distortion on units. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Squaring and measuring our frames.
• Welding of frames.
• Ordering and maintaining necessary equipment and supply for performing welding functions.
• Perform all necessary maintenance on the welding tools.
• Building and maintaining all necessary jigs.
• Keeping grinder apprised of any repairs needed.
• Maintain equipment maintenance records and schedules.
• Organizing and maintaining welding booth.
• Maintains physical and safety conditions in the company by ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Informs appropriate department group leader or management associate of any product shortages, defects, delays, or any other problem affecting shipments to customers.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
• Other duties as assigned by management. Even though Welder may be your main responsibility, Teak Isle will require cross training in other positions, including Grinder, Sanding, Polishing, Packing, Assembly, Material Handler, Finisher Router, CNC Operator, etc. Duties and responsibilities may change at any time with or without notice depending on the needs of the business.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• The employee is regularly required to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods of time.
• The employee must frequently be able to lift 50 pounds, work 10 hours days with most of the time being on your feet, and work overtime, whether planned or unplanned.
• Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperatures reaching over 100 degrees Fahrenheit at times.
• Must be able to work under time constraints and deadlines.
• Must be able to work in a dusty environment.
• Must be able to read measurements in inches.
