Job Purpose

Provides engineering solutions as part of a SSE project taskforce, in accordance with TechnipFMC standards, procedures, processes, schedules, and budget, with a continuous concern for quality, targets, and customer satisfaction.

Job Description

  • Assists field & shop operations by providing in person engineering support for heavy equipment assembly, field installation and troubleshooting. 
  • Functions as a “boots on the ground” liaison between the operations organization, the engineering hub, and sales. 
  • Reports/relays field nonconformances to the quality and engineering team and assists in their resolution. 
  • Stands ready to rapidly deploy to the field to gain “eyes-on” situational awareness and troubleshoot field related incidents to effectively and concisely communicate findings & updates to appropriate parties at the appropriate time.
  • Facilitates field trials of new products to determine design limits and needed improvements.
  • Accompanies sales/operations managers to the field to meet with customers to make technical presentations, act as a resource for engineering related questions, and provide input on technical application of products.
  • Reviews/audits field installation procedures, operations and maintenance manuals of existing technology or applications to ensure they meet standards and performance requirements within subject matter area.
  • Occasionally uses CAD/CAM and database systems to make layouts, analyze designs, evaluate equipment systems and generate new equipment designs.
  • Prepares documentation, information and communications such as ECN (Engineering Change Notices), field installation/commissioning procedures (ICP) and operations and maintenance manuals and ensures conformance to all policies and procedures related to engineering functions, labor reporting and systems reporting

You are meant for this job if:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
  • Working knowledge of specific process technologies, procedures, products and applications.
  • Knowledgeable of wellhead, frac or pressure pumping product lines.
  • Experience with automation and control systems preferred.
  • Oilfield product design experience.
  • Must be familiar with/willing and able to learn CAD and Database systems related to Engineering functions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot product non-conformances with little supervision on field service/plant location.
  • Ability to provide product life-of-field
