Job DetailsJob Location: Odessa, TX 79761Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: High SchoolTravel Percentage: Up to 25%Job Shift: DayJob Category: Skilled Labor - TradesJob purpose The Service Technician - Class A will repair and overhaul industrial natural gas engines in the shop as assigned by the Service Manager.   Duties and responsibilities Must be able to perform shop overhauls. Must be able to perform small generator repairs. Must be able to perform standby generator repair. Must be able to perform generator troubleshooting. Understands compressions and can-do repairs. Understands pneumatic engine controls. Understands all phases of gas engine ignition systems. Must understand general engine machine work fundamentals. Stay informed of the changes in various models of equipment. Through evaluation must be able to suggest/recommend any other required repairs. Promote good welfare among the company and its visions. Perform other duties as assigned. QualificationsQualifications Minimum Qualifications:  Must have 3 year(s) previous experience. Must have G.E.D. High School Diploma, prefer applied certification (s) job description. Certification in WED VHP technology and VGF technology preferred. Must meet all of the qualifications of a Service Tech Class B. Must have basic electrical knowledge. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s)  Must have a working knowledge of the above-titled position and how it relates to the overall business and its’ objectives. Must meet goals and objectives set forth by the company. Must conform to company policies and procedures set forth by the company. Must have a current driver’s license and acceptable driving record per WPI insurance carrier standard if driving a company vehicle. (ONLY IF JOB REQUIRES) Must be able to pass and maintain drug and alcohol testing requirements as outlined by the Department of Transportation. (ONLY IF JOB REQUIRES) Must be computer literate, a Windows-based environment preferred (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook). Must be dependable and able to work independently. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to bend and twist several times a day. Must have the ability to work flexible hours and days. Must maintain good client relations. Must maintain a professional appearance. Must promote and maintain a clean, neat, and safe work environment. Must have the ability to travel and stay overnight. Must possess troubleshooting skills. Must have the ability to effectively operate basic shop equipment. Must have the ability to obtain advanced manufacturing certifications. Must protect the company assets and interests. Working Conditions:  Typical hours of work Monday through Friday; 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Weekend hours as necessary.
