Job Summary
The Technical Sales Representative (TSR) serves as the primary technical and commercial interface between Weatherford Artificial Lift Solutions and customers throughout the Permian Basin. The TSR is responsible for driving profitable growth by identifying customer challenges, developing technically differentiated solutions, and delivering measurable production and economic value through the ALS portfolio.
Under Weatherford's Product Line-led operating model, the TSR reports directly to the Product Line Manager and acts as a trusted advisor to customer production, completion, facility, and asset teams. The role combines technical expertise, commercial acumen, and strategic account development to expand Weatherford's market position and support long-term growth objectives.
This position requires knowledge of artificial lift applications, production optimization, field operations, and customer workflows, with a strong focus on value creation, operational excellence, and technology adoption.
Responsibilities
Serve as the main technical sales contact for customers in the assigned territory.
Build strong relationships with engineers, operations teams, and key decision-makers.
Identify customer challenges and recommend artificial lift solutions that improve production, reliability, and efficiency.
Promote and grow Weatherford's Artificial Lift Solutions (ALS) portfolio, including Rod Lift, Pumping Units/Rotaflex, and Continuous Rod systems.
Conduct technical reviews, well evaluations, and solution presentations.
Develop customer-specific value propositions supported by technical and economic analysis.
Manage opportunities from identification through implementation and follow-up.
Maintain and grow a healthy sales pipeline using Salesforce.
Support proposal preparation, pricing strategies, tenders, and commercial offers.
Work closely with Product Line, Operations, and Account Management teams to achieve growth targets.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.
Support field trials, technology deployments, and pilot projects.
Assist with customer issue resolution and root cause investigations.
Ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and industry standards.
Support training and development of internal sales and operations teams.
Participate in professional development programs focused on sales, leadership, and technical expertise.
Travel up to 25% within the Permian Basin and other North American locations as required.
Skills/Education Required
Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
Minimum 5 years of Artificial Lift, Production Optimization, or Oilfield Operations experience.
Strong understanding of Permian Basin operating practices.
Demonstrated success in customer-facing technical roles.
Experience developing production enhancement and economic justification recommendations.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Strong commercial and negotiation capabilities.
Ability to quickly develop broad product and application knowledge.
Proficiency with Salesforce (SFDC), Microsoft Office, and ALS simulation software platforms.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and effectively manage territory priorities.
Skills/Education Preferred
Technical sales experience.
Artificial Lift application engineering experience.
Existing Permian Basin customer relationships.
Experience with production optimization software, including XSPOC, RODSTAR, Prosper, GAP, OFM, or equivalent platforms.
Experience supporting integrated production systems and digital solutions.
Previous leadership, mentoring, or Product Line Champion responsibilities.
