Job DetailsJob Location: PSIS - Omak, WA 988410000Salary Range: $30.88 - $30.88 HourlyCLOSES:             Open Continuously; with bi-weekly reviews POSITION:           Short Notice Substitute Teacher SALARY:             $30.88 per hour REPORTS TO:     PSIS Principal                                LOCATION:          Pascal Sherman Indian School, Omak, Washington BASIC FUNCTIONS:  Short Notice position is an on-call role, and applicants must be prepared to report to work within one hour of receiving notification.  The incumbent of this position serves as a fully qualified teacher in a secondary grade setting, teaching skills to, and developing students’ knowledge in multiple subjects using courses of study adopted by the Board of Education.  Employs a range of instructional techniques and strategies to deliver a cognitively challenging instructional program. QualificationsEducation and Training requirements: Requires a Washington State teaching certificate OR eligibility to apply for a conditional teaching certificate. Requires obtaining a First Aid/CPR card within 30 days of hire. Requires passing Washington State, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Colville Tribal History Background Checks. Requires a valid Washington State Drivers License and to be eligible for Tribal Insurance. Requires Proof of Degree, Transcripts, and three letters of Reference provided along with application.  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Requires knowledge of working in an Indigenous community in an educational capacity. Requires knowledge and skill in the use of technology.  Requires excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain working relationships with a diverse group of people, including students, parents, elders, teachers, administration, and staff in a fast-paced school environment. Requires the ability to multi-task and be flexible with priorities. Requires strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Requires the ability to implement Pascal Sherman's prescribed curriculum and to enforce the rules and regulations of the school. Requires the ability to provide for individual differences in students. Requires the ability to maintain appropriate records, good order, discipline, and a healthy and safe classroom atmosphere. Requires the ability to evaluate student growth. Requires the ability to use a variety of instructional materials. Requires the ability to make parent contact when necessary. Requires the ability to utilize principles of learning.  Requires the skill and ability to participate in curriculum development. Requires the ability to accept all duties as assigned by supervisor. Requires the ability to develop and present ideas effectively, orally and in written form.   Special Requirements: Excellent writing and public speaking skills, outstanding organizational and planning abilities, strong ability to work effectively with individuals and groups, knowledgeable in the area of instructional methods and theory, desire to serve as a team player, ability to facilitate groups, and problem solving and conflict resolution skills.     Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing.
