Founded on the belief that lasting recovery is possible, HIA operates across six states — Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Colorado, Texas, and North Carolina — serving individuals and families affected by addiction through residential recovery programs, community outreach, and discipleship. Position Summary The Grant Coordinator researches and identifies grant sources, develops and maintains funding relationships, writes and submits grant proposals, and monitors the implementation of a variety of grant opportunities to support Hope Is Alive's mission. This role requires the same diligence and follow through HIA expects in every area of ministry, since inaccurate reporting or a missed deadline can jeopardize funding that residents depend on. Key Responsibilities The following are the primary duties and responsibilities of this position. This list is not exhaustive and may be adjusted to support organizational needs. Primary Duties Research and identify grant sources, evaluating degree of match to ensure alignment with HIA's funding needs and mission Develop and manage relationships with funders to ensure satisfaction with HIA's expectations and performance Draft and submit grant proposals with supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the organization Work closely with Finance to prepare budgets and financial reports for projects Additional Responsibilities Monitor proposal and funding application requirements, including number of copies, content, delivery method and labeling, deadlines, and eligibility, to maximize successful awarding of grant funds Work with other departments to uncover specific project needs eligible for grant funding Prepare reports summarizing grant activities, including expenditures and outcomes Develop processes and procedures for a consistent grant application methodology Research statistics within the program and nationwide to ensure the most recent data is reported in proposals and funder updates Qualifications Required Easily develops relationships and is personal and relational with funders and colleagues Reliable, responsible, available, and present Excellent verbal and written communication skills Self motivated, always looking for ways to do something better, with a forward thinking planning style Organized, with strong prioritization skills and the ability to plan and meet deadlines Detail oriented, ensuring grant application guidelines are followed Creative, always finding innovative approaches to winning grants Stays up to date on the latest education and information relevant to grant funding Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace Preferred Prior work experience in grants management  Ability to work independently A positive and professional attitude Able to work some nights, weekends, and overnights based on the event schedule Ability to travel in and out of state throughout event seasons Prior experience in a small, fast scaling organization Bachelor's degree in a related field A passion for HIA and its mission Core Competencies Successful candidates will demonstrate strength in the following areas: Mission Alignment — Understands that every grant secured directly expands HIA's ability to serve residents and families Relationship Building — Develops and maintains strong, trust based relationships with funders Detail Orientation — Ensures grant guidelines, deadlines, and reporting requirements are consistently met Creativity — Finds innovative approaches to identifying and winning grant funding Organization — Manages multiple proposals, budgets, and reporting deadlines simultaneously Working Conditions & Physical Requirements The following conditions are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this role.
