Ascent Resources is seeking an experienced Applications Systems Analyst to join our team in Oklahoma City, OK. This position will report to the Supervisor – Application Support.
 
The Application Systems Analyst is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and support of enterprise software applications. This role ensures that business applications are optimized for performance, aligned with organizational goals, and meet user needs. The analyst serves as a liaison between IT and business units, providing technical expertise and user support.
 
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assess and execute system improvements and upgrades to ensure optimal performance and functionality
  • Identify opportunities for automation and workflow optimization
  • Engage and collaborate with stakeholders including team members, other teams, and users within the business to:
    • Gather feedback and ensure solutions meet their needs
    • Gather requirements and translate them into solutions
  • Act as a technical mentor and coach to team members, providing guidance on best practices, requirements gathering, knowledge sharing and solution development
  • Administer, configure, and support enterprise applications
  • Perform system upgrades, patches, and routine maintenance
  • Troubleshoot application issues and coordinate with vendors or developers for resolution
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including system configurations, workflows, and user guides
  • Provide training and support to end-users
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations
  • Participate in application testing, quality assurance, and deployment processes
  • Analyze system performance and recommend improvements or automation opportunities
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and application trends
 
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Minimum Requirements:
  • Adaptability to identify and evolve new technologies
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
  • Open to learning new technologies and capabilities
  • Ability to understand technical and functional documents
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
  • Experience in developing, testing, implementing, and documenting complex solutions
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in supporting Quorum Upstream and Land software or other oil and gas related software
 
Education & Work Experience Required
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise application solutions/development
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred:
  • Experience in a similar role within the energy sector
