Job DetailsJob Location: Corporate Headquarters - Oklahoma City, OK 73162Join the corporate team with Express Employment International as a Network Operations Center Technician and become the frontline guardian of mission-critical networks that power our organization. In this role, you'll monitor network performance 24/7 using cutting-edge tools, swiftly diagnose and resolve issues before they impact users, and collaborate closely with IT teams, vendors, and customers to keep everything running at peak efficiency and security.   Every shift brings new challenges, from spotting anomalies in real time and troubleshooting complex outages to performing proactive maintenance and ensuring rock-solid uptime. If you excel under pressure, love diving deep into network protocols and alerts, and enjoy turning potential disruptions into seamless operations, this is your opportunity to make a tangible difference in a dynamic, collaborative environment where your quick thinking directly drives reliability and success.   This position sits within our Oklahoma City-based corporate office, currently with an expectation to be onsite five (5) days per week.   RESPONSIBILITIES Proactively monitor network performance, availability, and health using monitoring tools, dashboards, and alerting systems to detect anomalies, degradation, or outages in real time Identify, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve network incidents and issues; escalate complex problems to senior engineers, Tier 2/3 support, or appropriate teams/vendors as needed Continuously monitor critical business applications, services, and server performance, including response times, error rates, transaction success, and availability Respond promptly to network alerts, events, and customer-reported issues, following established incident management processes and adhering to service level agreements (SLAs) Perform routine preventive maintenance, software/firmware updates, patches, backups, and configuration changes on network devices, servers, and systems to ensure optimal operation and security Accurately document all incidents, resolutions, maintenance activities, procedures, and changes using the ticketing system and knowledge base for accurate reporting, auditing, and knowledge sharing Adhere to organizational network policies, security standards, best practices, and compliance requirements while maintaining network integrity and confidentiality Provide timely technical support, guidance, and troubleshooting assistance to internal teams, end-users, external customers, and stakeholders via phone, email, chat, or ticketing systems Collaborate effectively with cross-functional IT teams, vendors, service providers, and field technicians to resolve issues, implement solutions, and maintain high network reliability and uptime Track and report on key network performance metrics, incident trends, and system status to support continuous improvement and capacity planning     EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS Associate degree or higher in computer science, information technology, or related field preferred At least one year of experience in network operations, administration, or engineering required   KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, OR ABILITIES   Solid knowledge of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, OSPF, BGP), standards (OSI/TCP-IP models), architectures (LAN/WAN, routing/switching), and basic security concepts Proficiency with network monitoring, diagnostic, and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Splunk, Wireshark, Cisco/Juniper CLI/interfaces) to interpret alerts, logs, and performance data Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to diagnose, isolate, and resolve network issues efficiently in real time, while adhering to SLAs and incident processes Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-service focus and ability to collaborate effectively with teams, vendors, end-users, and stakeholders Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic 24/7 operations environment, including shift work, multitasking during incidents, and maintaining composure under pressure Strong organizational and documentation skills for accurate incident tracking, resolution notes, and knowledge base contributions Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, JNCIA, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent are preferred (higher-level like CCNP/JNCIS a plus)     Not sure you meet every requirement?
