ABOUT THE JOB

Tepa Companies are seeking an Operations Engineering Mechanical Technician to support our work at Tinker Air Force Base. As an Operations Engineering Mechanical Technician, you will provide operations engineering to Depot Maintenance Activity Group (DMAG), Navy& DLA occupied facilities. You will provide engineering technical support and guidance in support of execution of a preventive maintenance program. You will ensure the reliability and maintainability of reimbursable customers’ real property equipment.  You will provide Asset Management data collection (inventory, Condition assessment, and practical updates to define all Mechanical system assets for these customers.

Job Functions:

  • Provides data collection and maintenance of Equipment records related to Mechanical systems, to include Plumbing, Air Compressors, Steam, Hotwater, HVAC and Packaged equipment, Fire Suppression, Liquid Fuels components, and  Industrial Waste components.   (Data maintained in local Database, NexGen Computer Maintenance System, and USACE’s BUILDER Data Application
  • Provides advisement on Mechanical related Preventive Maintenance to include review of Air Force Preventive Maintenance Task Lists (AF-PMTLS) for proper maintenance, and advisement on appropriate frequencies of tasks.
  • Monitors operations contractor’s preventive maintenance program and recommend optimal and cost-effective maintenance scheduling and execution to the Government FAS. 
  • Provides Facility Condition Assessments;  identification of deficiencies and recommendations for repair and improvement of mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Reviews of existing project opportunities to advise on moving forward, modifying, and advocating completion of these requirements.
  • Provides capital improvement planning recommendation to maintain the industry standard for life cycle costs.
  • Applies engineering evaluations with considerations for energy opportunities and equipment reliability to identify and recommend a prioritized listing of maintenance and repair projects for out-year programming by the Government FAS.   
  • Reviews, Updates, and validates Operation’s technicians equipment status and condition information to maintain data in local dataset and  USACE’s BUILDER database.. 
  • Manages and provides recommended periodic adjustments with respect to preventive maintenance, work scheduling, and project priorities as conditions of Tinker AFB facilities change. 
  • Completes and incorporates annual performance inspections of at least 20% of each reimbursable customer’s building square footage per year and enter the inspection results into USACE’s BUILDER database 
  • Provides engineering support to the operations contractor to ensure the best technical, economical, and energy efficient solutions are implemented in operations contactor’s predictive maintenance program and real property repairs for reimbursable customers’ facilities. 
  • Develops and maintains facility and real property equipment five-year plans as part of a comprehensive maintenance program to provide recommended planning for out-year repair and replacement requirements for reimbursable customer budgeting. 
  • Provides root- cause analysis for critical equipment failures performed in support of PdM to develop lessons- learned database.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • High school diploma or GED, and at least 10 years’ experience related to facilities/infrastructure maintenance or construction; OR Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and at least 3 years’ experience related to facilities/infrastructure maintenance or construction; OR Trade license in applicable field. 
  • Technical knowledge and job experience in the Mechanical discipline 
  • Experience in continuous improvement or optimization of maintenance practices 
  • Ability to read and comprehend engineering designs 
  • Basic working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access 
  • Knowledge of the Internal Building Code, NFPA Life Safety Code, ASCE 7, ACI Standards, AISC Standards, and Unified Facilities Criteria 
  • Strong acumen to communicate effectively both orally and written
