Oklahoma City Indian Clinic is hiring an Optometry Assistant! An ideal candidate would be an excellent multitasker who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Must have excellent customer service skills. Applicants claiming Indian Preference must complete the full application and must provide documentation verifying eligibility (such as a tribal enrollment card or Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood (CDIB)). Job Duties include, but are not limited to: Provides medical assistance to the clinic's Optometrist. Responsible for greeting and checking in patients into the optometry clinic when needed. Reviews the optometry appointment schedule and schedules as needed. Orders, dispenses, and adjusts eyeglasses for patients; interprets eyeglass or contact lens prescriptions. Responsible for completing and following up on consults made to outside providers. Prepares examination and treatment rooms; cleans and maintains ophthalmic instruments. Performs basic routine vision screening examinations as well as special testing. Qualifications Due to the safety-sensitive nature of this position, medical marijuana license holders who test positive for marijuana will not be qualified for this position. Must align with OKCIC vision, mission, and core values Requires a high school diploma or GED 1 year of previous Optometry experience required, 3 years preferred. Knowledge of Electronic Health Records required; RPMS, Revoluation EHR, and/or EPIC preferred. Paraoptametric certification or Medical Assisting certification preferred.
