Job Position – Pastor, Central Ministry Support—Kids & StudentsÂ

Summary
The Pastor, Central Ministry Support – Kids & Students is accountable for the leadership, development and execution of Kids and Students best practices that will result in effective, mission-driven, and developmentally appropriate programs. The focus will be on the child and family development in an environment where all people can find and follow Jesus.Â
Organizational Relationships
The Central Ministry Support KIDS and Student Pastor will report to the Pastor, Central Ministry Support. This position will also work collaboratively with our Central Ministry Support Teams, Location/Area Pastors. They will work collaboratively and interact regularly with various vendors, CCC staff and volunteers across the various departments and ministries, venues, and locations, as well with partners of Crossings to accomplish the goals and mission of Crossings’ and its ministries.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate multisite kids and student ministry programs to include strategy development, planning, and execution.
- Ensure the utilization of relevant, gospel-based curriculum for all ages, allowing theology to provide the foundation.Â
- Create effective, mission-aligned weekend experiences for all families.
- Lead the coordination and collaboration efforts of church-wide family events (i.e., camps, family mission days, Sunday events)
- Provide leadership of kids and student ministry production teams.
- Collaborate with Location Pastors, Kids pastors, and Student pastors across all locations to develop a comprehensive faith plan that is implemented throughout age ranges.Â
- Lead Central Ministry Support meetings for both Kids and Students pastoral staff across all locations, to develop and affirm what we do that is Fixed, Flexed, and Free across all Crossings locations. Utilize the meeting to embed best practices, transfer learnings, encourage and support the teams, and identify issues and opportunities for improvement.Â
- Create an environment that recruits, develops, and empowers kids and student ministry leaders, including scalable recruitment, training, and volunteer care and retention strategies that sustain healthy leader pipelines across all locations.Â
- Establish and enforce safe child and student protection policies across all locations, including background check protocols, staff and volunteer screening, check-in and security procedures, appropriate staff-to-child ratios, incident and crisis response protocols.
- Champion an inclusive ministry environment by developing strategies and support structures that allow children and students of all abilities to fully participate and belong.
- Provide direct leadership, coaching, and performance development for kids and student pastors and staff across locations, including hiring input, onboarding, and ongoing evaluation.
- Develop and oversee the kids and student ministry budget, ensuring responsible stewardship and equitable allocation of resources (curriculum, supplies, technology, staffing) across all locations.
- Define and track key ministry metrics (attendance trends, salvation and baptism decisions, discipleship milestones, and volunteer retention) and provide regular reporting to the Central Ministries Pastor on ministry health and growth.
- Standardize and oversee ministry systems and software (e.g., check-in, database, communication platforms) to ensure consistency, data integrity, and ease of use across all locations.
- Guide the planning and launch of kids and student ministry programming for new locations, ensuring alignment with Crossings’ mission and best practices from day one.
- Develop a clear, consistent family communication strategy to keep parents informed, engaged, and equipped to partner in their child’s faith development.
- Assist in maintaining the highest possible ministry standards and professional ethics in accordance with the goals, Purpose Statement, and Core Values of CCC
- Support the leadership of CCC, contributing to the spirit of unity among the staff and congregation
- Represent Crossings in civic and ministry-related efforts as approved or requested
- Perform any other duties or tasks to accomplish responsibilities associated with this position or as may be needed or assigned to fulfill the needs, mission and goals of Crossings’ ministriesÂ

Physical & Other Requirements for Position
- Be able to walk a long distance (up to a quarter of a mile); and be able to lift and carry 25-35 lbs. parcels for distances of up to 500 feet.Â
- Possess a current unrestricted driver’s license.
- Able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
- This is a safety sensitive position where the employee holding this position has the responsibility of his/her own safety and the safety of others including minors.Â

Required Experience, Education and CompetenciesÂ
- Undergraduate degree preferred.
- 5+ years ministry training or experience working with elementary through high school students to include leading group programming and curriculum development.
- Volunteer coordination and experience participating in or leading the Sunday morning experience strongly desired.
- Attends Crossings on a consistent basis to understand culture, mission, and vision.
- Ability to develop priorities with the right balance of short and long-term wins.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective organizational relationships/partnerships (internal and external).
- Strong leadership and communication skills and abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to teach and shepherd staff/team, volunteers, members and their families.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
