POSITION SUMMARY 

The Sales Support Specialist is responsible for fostering the growth of Assured Benefits Administrators (ABA) by assisting and supporting the Sales and Client Relations team in all aspects of product and service proposals. The role operates in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with diverse cases and ongoing opportunities to learn and grow. Key responsibilities include coordinating proposal components, leading content development for RFPs and proposals, and managing projects that enable successful new business acquisition and client retention.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs), coordinating with Sales and Client Relations to deliver accurate, on-time responses. 
  • Lead cross-functional sales projects from intake to delivery, managing timelines, ownership, and workflow execution. 
  • Compile and submit proposal materials in alignment with brand standards and internal processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance. 
  • Maintain a centralized content library to support consistent, efficient proposal development. 
  • Work collaboratively with Sales and Client Relations to craft strategic, customized responses for RFPs, RFIs, finalist decks, and follow-up questions in a timely manner.  
  • Oversee client renewal processes, ensuring accurate and timely updates to meet each client’s annual renewal schedule. 
  • Track and report on pipeline activity, win/loss trends, and performance insights to support continuous improvement. 
  • Ensure confidentiality of client information and compliance with company policies and regulations. 
  • Maintaining marketing materials and contributing to special projects or cross-functional initiatives. 
  • Persuasive written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, client ready language. 
  • Demonstrated ability to write in a professional, credible manner and tailor messages to different audiences. 
  • Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet tight deadlines. 
  • Comfortable researching information online and via internal sources; strong critical thinking, decision making, and sound judgment. 
  • Professional presence and confidence interacting with executive level management and external partners. 
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and quality control in all deliverables. 
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

  • Associate degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered. 
  • 3 years of research and customer service experience required. 
  • 1–3 years of experience in marketing, sales support, and/or project management preferred. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with proposal automation tools and CRM is a plus. 
  • Persuasive written and verbal communication skills with an ability to translate technical concepts into clear, client ready language. 
  • Proven ability to write credible, audience-aware communications across a variety of stakeholders and contexts. 
  • Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet tight deadlines. 
  • Comfortable researching information online and via internal sources; strong critical thinking, decision-making, and sound judgment. 
  • Professional presence and confidence interacting with executive-level management and external partners. 
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and quality control in all deliverables.
