Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector is seeking a Staff Engineer Software to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on the B-2 programs.

We are seeking an experienced Systems and Software Quality Assurance (SSQA) expert to champion as well as enforce compliance across the software development lifecycle. The candidate will perform quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements. They will assess and set-up audit schedules for the program, identify program performance and risks, and determine resources to ensure mission assurance success. They will work with the CAMs on budget allocations. They will additionally identify optimization areas and automation opportunities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee lab processes, lab procedures, process documentation, and standards compliance to guarantee that products satisfy customer requirements throughout development, test, and evaluation phases.
  • Lead compliance activities that meet ISO 9001 standards, including audits, test-readiness reviews, test setup verification, and test procedure validation.
  • Design and implement system integration checks, configuration verification, and requirements verification.
  • Execute lab equipment verifications, drawing reviews, and change control notices/orders for accuracy and maintenance feasibility.
  • Participate in root-cause and corrective-action (RCCA) investigations and hold the program accountable for any non-conforming processes or products.
  • Review product and system documentation to confirm process compliance and fulfillment of requirement needs at every testing stage.
  • Develop and execute software quality processes that detect performance impacts early in the testing cycle.
  • Execute statements of work by interpreting Customer Data Requirements Lists, Supplier Data Requirements Lists, Acceptance Test Procedures, Qualification Test Procedures, Bench Test Procedures, Receiving Audits, and Program Specifications.
  • Mentor the SSQA team to increase the knowledge of QE work.
  • Work with DCMA on AS9102B/C First Article Inspections (FAI) on hardware and electronic components; present FAIs to DCMA and the government customers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other STEM-related field relevant software development integration work experience.
  • 12 Years Experience with Bachelors of Science; 10 Years with Masters; 8 Years with PhD.
  • Earned Value Management
  • Experienced users of Jira, Teamcenter, DOORS, IMPCA and MES for configuration management, peer reviews, requirements tracking, and workflow execution.
  • Advanced computer skills in software engineering and programming best practices for automation implementation, maintenance of automation tools, and for code peer reviews.
  • Strong organizational abilities with a track record of managing complex test and development projects.
  • Deep knowledge of testing methodologies, quality standards, and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation review and stakeholder interaction
  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.

  • Active Secret Clearance (or higher)
  • Previous experience on the B-2 program with requisite additional clearances
  • Experience with IBM DOORS
  • Experience with requirement traceability
  • Experience in a Software Engineering environment in an engineering capacity, work plan review, and root cause/corrective action analysis.
  • Ability to work independently with all levels of management and customer representatives to identify solutions to complex problems.
  • Experience leading diverse teams via a formalized Root Cause/Corrective Action process

Primary Level Salary Range: $144,900.00 - $217,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
