POSITION SUMMARY:
The Scraper Center is looking for a student worker with a background in athletics, preferably at the collegiate level. We are also hoping to find a student who is interested in pursuing a counseling master’s degree. The Student Worker’s primary role is to assist the Scraper Center with projects, organization, special events, student athlete mental health programming, and producing a weekly podcast. There will be other duties as assigned, as well.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Assist the Scraper Center Staff with special projects.
● Work with the Office Manager to organize materials and supplies.
● Assist the Scraper Center Staff with special events and special programming.
● Initiates research for specific mental health programming for student athletes.
● Contributes to organizing programming for student athletes.
● Assists in organizing and providing special programming for student athletes.
● Records, produces, edits, and publishes a weekly podcast that the counselors will perform.
● Performs other duties as assigned to benefit the Scraper Counseling Center.
● May attend meetings and trainings at the Scraper Center.
QUALIFICATIONS:
● Proven interpersonal skills
● Positive attitude and team player
● Ability to work with a team in a fast-paced environment
● Exceptional persistence and self-motivated work ethic
● Technology proficiency, especially in producing a podcast
● Ability to adhere to and respect strict confidentiality requirements
● Preferred background in psychology and/or ministry
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
● Student at Mid-America Christian University
● Majoring in psychology and/or ministry preferred
● Background in collegiate athletics preferred
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Technology proficient and ability to produce a podcast or learn how to produce a podcast.
