The Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist at Oak Street Health plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality, community-based healthcare. This position involves working closely with care teams to provide exceptional patient experiences, assist in health assessments, and perform routine diagnostic testing. The role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills to effectively support patients and healthcare providers.Responsibilities include ensuring efficient patient flow by rooming patients timely and assisting providers to stay on schedule, delivering exceptional patient experience, obtaining vital signs and reviewing medications, delivering patient screenings per protocols, ordering supplies and stocking exam rooms, conducting routine quality control checks including infection control and equipment QA, ensuring exam rooms are clean and safe, providing telephonic support under direction, assisting with home-based support for high-risk members, performing MA appropriate visits such as vaccinations and procedures (ABI, spirometry, EKGs), performing waived laboratory testing, scheduling diagnostic testing, applying or assisting with durable medical equipment, supporting care team with medical records management, participating in care team meetings, and other duties as assigned.Requirements include CPR Certification, Medical Assistant certification or registration, preferred 3-5 years in a Medical Assistant role, required EMR experience, 2+ years experience with geriatric patients, preferred Phlebotomy Technician Certification, strong communication and customer service skills, problem-solving skills, accountability, positive attitude, fluency in Spanish, Polish, Russian or other community languages where necessary, and US work authorization.
