Position Summary

Line Cooks at The Okoboji Store play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality preparation of food for our customers.

Responsibilities

The following responsibilities will be expected for this position:

  • Maintain strict adherence to safe and hygienic food-handling practices in all food preparation and serving areas.
  • Prep kitchen tools and equipment by ensuring they are washed and functioning properly.
  • Prepare a variety of ingredients with precision, considering the anticipated volume of the day.
  • Follow recipes meticulously or adjust based on experience to achieve exceptional taste and quality.
  • Manage multiple ticket orders, cooking each dish promptly and accurately, ensuring timely delivery to the expo.
  • Conduct thorough tests to guarantee food is cooked to perfection; using methods such as taste, smell, or pierce.
  • Monitor and regulate cooking temperatures for ovens, fryers, and grills throughout service hours.
  • Execute a comprehensive end-of-day kitchen cleanup, maintaining impeccable hygiene standards; cleaning grills, taking out trash cans, wrapping up and storing foods, washing the floors, etc. 

Requirements 

Applicants must possess the following qualifications:

  • Previous experience in food preparation and cooking is not required but a plus
  • Flourishes in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently
  • Strong communication skills essential for effective teamwork
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
