Job Description

Prieb Property Management is looking for an experienced Make Ready Technician to join our maintenance team.

We are a family-owned property management company that values hard work, reliability, teamwork, and work-life balance. This position offers a consistent Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with no weekends, no on-call rotation, and no regularly scheduled overtime.

Our Make Ready Technicians are responsible for preparing vacant apartments and townhomes for incoming residents. We are looking for someone with residential maintenance or make-ready experience who can work independently, manage their time well, and complete assigned turns efficiently.

Prieb Property Management provides a company vehicle for work-related use during business hours. Technicians are expected to provide their own basic hand and power tools, including an impact drill and circular saw.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Complete make-ready work in vacant apartments and townhomes
  • Install, remove, and perform minor repairs on appliances, including refrigerators, ovens/ranges, and microwaves
  • Complete interior painting of walls, ceilings, and trim
  • Perform drywall repairs, including patching, mudding, sanding, and preparing surfaces for paint
  • Perform basic plumbing repairs, including clearing drain clogs, replacing showerheads and toilet components, and pulling and resetting toilets
  • Perform basic electrical repairs, including replacing light fixtures and light bulbs
  • Remove old carpet and carpet padding when needed
  • Replace door knobs, locks, deadbolts, and other hardware
  • Program garage door openers and remotes
  • Communicate with the service department regarding parts, supplies, inventory, and project updates
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Complete assigned work safely, efficiently, and within established deadlines
Qualifications

  • Previous experience in apartment make-ready work, residential maintenance, building maintenance, construction, or a related trade
  • Working knowledge of painting, drywall, basic plumbing, basic electrical, appliance installation, and general repairs
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Willingness to learn new skills and assist with a variety of maintenance tasks
  • Ability to safely lift and transport up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and climb ladders as required
  • Ability to use an iPad or similar device for work-related tasks
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company insurance requirements
  • Professional appearance and conduct appropriate for working in residential communities
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening
