Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Construction Equipment Diesel Field Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered construction equipment. This position involves both shop and field work, with a strong focus on compact track loaders.



Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
  • Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, filters, lubrication)
  • Repair or replace engines, hydraulic systems, and other components
  • Inspect equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
  • Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot problems
  • Maintain accurate service records and repair logs
  • Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper performance
  • Follow all safety regulations and company procedures
  • Communicate with supervisors and operators regarding equipment status

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED (technical training preferred)
  • Proven experience with diesel engines and heavy equipment
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Experience using diagnostic tools and equipment

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with brands such as Caterpillar, John Deere, Kubota, or Takeuchi
  • Extensive experience with compact track loaders
  • Welding and fabrication skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
