This is an Operations position responsible for moving trucks and trailers in and out of dock doors for loading and unloading. Responsibilities include collaborating with loaders and supervision to move trucks and trailers according to door assignments, checking seals and refrigeration units, moving trucks and trailers from dock to dock, ensuring trailers or trucks are fully loaded and secured, working with transportation management and fleet shop management, keeping the truck parking yard clean, arranging trucks and trailers efficiently, recording start up time and reefer set points, and ensuring trailer doors are closed when not docked. Additional duties may include checking oil and fluid levels, fueling trucks and trailers, washing out trailers, and checking lights, hoses, and tires. Qualifications include less than high school education, 1 year of warehouse or transportation experience preferred, truck backing experience preferred, valid driver's license required, and Pallet Jack and Forklift Certification from Sysco (can be obtained after hiring). The role requires physical demands such as standing, walking, bending, climbing into trailers and tractors, and specific vision abilities. Working conditions include exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, all weather conditions, occasional fumes or airborne particles, and moderate noise levels. The job requires adherence to safety and security procedures, effective communication, problem-solving, integrity, teamwork, and efficiency.
