Milestone Recovery is here to provide the best quality of services to empower individuals with substance use and behavioral health disorders to attain stability, dignity, recovery, and an enhanced quality of life. Milestone Extended Care in Old Orchard Beach is a clinically managed, 21-bed, 9-month residential program for men, which uses a range of evidence-based treatment modalities.


Cook Position Profile: Responsible for meal planning and preparation for Extended Care Residents and general kitchen upkeep.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare lunch and dinner meals for 21 Extended care clients
  • Keep kitchen, dining area and food storage clean, organized and in good condition
  • Follow all state and federal food safety regulations
  • Control and log temperatures for all equipment
  • Stay within established budget for the food service
  • Execute a weekly menu
  • Obtain necessary supplies for the kitchen when needed
  • Attend occasional program staff meetings and appropriate trainings
  • Engage with clients in the planning and preparation of meals
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule: M-F 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.


Hourly: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour


Paid Time Off: PTO accrual of 4 weeks per year; additional paid floating holidays


Benefits: Schedules of more than 30 hours per week are full benefits-eligible


Physical demands and work environment: Freedom of movement on a regular basis. Operating kitchen equipment in a normal full service kitchen environment. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. May spend extended periods walking, twisting, bending, standing and lifting.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent. A valid Maine state driver’s license is required. A minimum of 1 year of institutional cooking experience. SERVE Safe certified is a plus.
