Armed Guard

POSITION SUMMARY

The Armed Guard is responsible for providing armed security services in support of U.S. Government operations at Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo. This role is critical to maintaining the safety and security of personnel, facilities, equipment, and property through access control, perimeter security, surveillance, patrol operations, and emergency response activities. Armed Guards work in a 24/7 mission environment and serve as the first line of defense against security threats, unauthorized access, and emergency situations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Control access to Camp Bondsteel by screening personnel, vehicles, and visitors to ensure only authorized individuals enter the installation.
• Conduct vehicle, baggage, and personnel inspections using security screening equipment, including X-ray systems, biometric devices, metal detectors, and explosive detection technology.
• Perform armed patrols, security inspections, and perimeter checks to detect and deter potential security threats.
• Monitor surveillance and observation posts, identify suspicious activity, and report incidents in accordance with established procedures.
• Respond to security incidents, emergencies, alarms, unauthorized entry attempts, accidents, fires, and other critical events.
• Maintain accurate records, incident reports, and operational logs.
• Safeguard government-issued weapons, equipment, communications devices, vehicles, and other assigned property.
• Adhere to established Rules of Engagement (ROE), security procedures, and professional conduct standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

• S. Citizen.
• Minimum of two (2) years of armed security, law enforcement, military, or related security experience within the last ten (10) years.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable Tier 3 background investigation or equivalent security screening.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to meet physical fitness, medical, hearing, and vision requirements necessary to perform armed security duties.
• Successful completion of required firearms qualifications, security training, and annual certification requirements.
• Ability to pass pre-employment and ongoing drug and alcohol screening requirements.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and emergency operations in a mission-critical environment.
